You have been asked to organisethe team event.Again.

  1. You want to choose something people will genuinely enjoy, not simply attend.
  2. Something different from another restaurant booking, another cooking class or a room full of awkward icebreakers.
  3. You want people involved but you do not want to force the fun.
  4. You want everyone to enjoy good food but nobody needs to put on an apron, pick up a knife or get their hands dirty.
  5. And although you want the evening to feel thoughtful and memorable, you do not have endless time to turn its organisation into another project.

That is where Culinary Discovery comes in.

Good food is onlythe beginning.

Culinary Discovery is a private culinary experience built around a complete dinner, food science and the pleasure of discovering something unexpected.

A table seen from above, set with small tasting bowls for a group

Throughout the evening, familiar food and everyday assumptions begin to look different. Something unexpected catches your guests' attention. Curiosity takes over, and they start talking before anyone asks them to.

This is food science experienced, not lectured. Each discovery arrives through the senses, creating moments of surprise that make people curious, engaged and eager to share what they have noticed.

Who prepares it
Everything is prepared and hosted by Marta.
What guests do
Arrive, take a seat and enjoy what unfolds.
How it lands
Through the senses, not through a lecture.

Seven acts. No spoilers.

The surprise is part of the experience. Culinary Discovery unfolds across seven carefully designed acts, and each begins at the table and leads somewhere unexpected.

You will not know exactly what comes next. That is the point. Curiosity keeps the room alive and a discovery feels entirely different when you experience it before it is explained.

The dishes remain secret until the evening itself. All you need to know is that your team will be well fed, genuinely surprised and completely looked after.

The table does the introducing.

Food has a rare ability to bring very different people into the same conversation. Around a shared table, job titles begin to matter a little less. Age, background, culture, professional experience and personality do not need to match. In fact, the differences make the evening more interesting.

There is no single correct way to experience flavour.

As guests taste, react and share what they notice, conversation begins naturally. One flavour brings back a memory. One surprise makes the whole table laugh. One observation leads to a story nobody has heard before.

Taste is personal, so there is nothing to prove and no right answer to perform. People can be curious, surprised, uncertain or completely convinced. Every reaction adds something to the conversation.

This is how colleagues who normally speak mainly about projects begin to discover unexpected things about one another, without an artificial icebreaker in sight.

More thana good dinner.

Culinary Discovery does not ask anyone to be creative on command. It simply interrupts routine and gives curiosity room to wake up.

01

Natural connection

The experience gives everyone something real to react to. Conversation, laughter, memories and stories emerge without being forced.

02

Genuine engagement

Nobody has to manufacture enthusiasm. Surprise and curiosity draw people in naturally, including those who would usually stay on the edge of a traditional team activity.

03

Fresh perspective

Your team discovers how senses, expectations, memories and cultural influences shape the way food is experienced. Familiar things begin to look different.

04

Unexpected common ground

People who may have little to discuss beyond work discover shared memories, preferences, questions and experiences.

05

Shared story

The surprise is shared. It gives the team something to revisit on the way home, in the office and over coffee the following day.

06

A break from routine

For a few hours, everyday tasks and routines can wait. Your team can relax, be fully present and enjoy discovering something new together.

Your guests leave well fed, still talking and a little more curious about food, people and the familiar things they thought they already knew.

A memorable evening withoutcarrying all the work yourself.

You want the event to feel special. You do not want organising it to become another full-time project.

Once the date and group details are confirmed, Marta takes care of the experience from beginning to end, including planning, preparation, venue, service and hosting.

You do not need to invent activities, brief facilitators, coordinate a cooking class or create energy in the room. The experience creates its own momentum.

Your role is simply to bring the team and enjoy yourself.

Not a cooking class.Not a lecture.Not forced team building.

  • Nobody cooks

Your team enjoys a complete dinner without aprons, chopping boards, culinary tasks or washing up.

  • Nobody is tested

No food knowledge or culinary experience is required. Guests discover everything through their own senses.

  • Nobody is forced to have fun

There are no awkward games, public performances, presentations, role-playing exercises or artificial icebreakers.

  • The science never feels like a lesson

Food science is woven into the experience through discovery, curiosity and surprise.

  • It is more than another restaurant booking

The food is part of a larger experience that draws people in, opens conversation and keeps the entire table wondering what might happen next.

Meet your host

Food science, sensory perceptionand culinary creativity at one table.

Designed and hosted by Marta Szumiata, a food technologist specialising in new product development and formulation. She works at the point where food science, sensory perception and culinary creativity meet, exploring not only how food is made but also how it is experienced.

As the creator of Nauka na talerzu, Marta has years of experience translating complex food science into practical knowledge that helps people cook with greater confidence and encourages them to explore new flavours, ideas and experiences.

With Culinary Discovery, Marta creates moments of surprise that awaken curiosity and open up new ways to savour food.

The intention behind the evening is simple: to help guests leave well fed, still talking and a little more curious about everything they thought they already knew.

FAQ

Questions beforeyou take a seat?

If something is not answered here, ask in the enquiry below and you will get a direct answer.

What actually happens during Culinary Discovery?

Culinary Discovery unfolds through seven acts built around a complete dinner. The sequence and dishes are intentionally not revealed before the event because surprise is a central part of the experience. However, allergens are always clearly listed. Before booking, you will receive all the practical information needed to decide whether the format is right for your team.

Is Culinary Discovery a cooking class?

No. Guests do not cook, prepare food or need to get their hands dirty. Everything is prepared, served and hosted for them.

Is a full dinner included?

Yes. Culinary Discovery includes a complete dinner and selected alcohol-free drinks. Guests should arrive curious and hungry.

Does anyone need culinary or scientific knowledge?

Not at all. The experience is designed for curious guests, not experts. Everything is discovered naturally through the senses.

Will participants have to play games or speak in front of the group?

No. There are no artificial icebreakers, role-playing exercises, presentations or forced performances. Engagement grows naturally from what happens around the table and nobody is put on the spot.

Is it suitable for quieter or more introverted guests?

Yes. The experience does not depend on being loud, competitive or extroverted. Guests can engage in their own way while the shared table gives everyone something natural to respond to.

Is it suitable for an international team?

Yes. Culinary Discovery is hosted in English and does not require specialist knowledge or familiarity with a particular culinary culture. Different backgrounds and perspectives make the conversation even more interesting.

Can allergies and dietary requirements be accommodated?

Please share all allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements with your enquiry. Each request is reviewed before booking and Marta will confirm what can be safely accommodated within the complete experience.

Is alcohol served?

No. The dinner is accompanied by selected alcohol-free drinks.

How many people can participate?

The Signature Edition is designed for groups of up to 24 guests. There is no minimum group size, so smaller teams are just as welcome.

Where does the event take place?

Can the experience be customised?

The Signature Edition is designed as one complete experience, and its sequence remains intact to protect its rhythm and surprises. Essential dietary and organisational requirements will always be discussed before confirmation.

How much does Culinary Discovery cost?

Pricing is available on request. Send your preferred date and approximate group size and Marta will reply with availability and current pricing.

How early should we enquire?

As soon as you have a possible date in mind. Earlier enquiries offer the best chance of securing your preferred date, but you are welcome to ask even if your plans are still flexible.
